Braves Athletic Club Hockey Registration Information (2026-2027 Season)

The Braves Athletic Club, together with NEZ Hockey, Northstars, and NEZ Eagles, now uses a centralized registration system. All player registrations must be completed through the North East Zone.

All registrations must be completed online.

Payment Options

Registration fees can be paid by:

• Credit card through the online registration system
• E-transfer to nezsportstreasurer@gmail.com
  • Auto-deposit is enabled; no security question is required
  • Please include the player's full name in the e-transfer message
• Cash, debit, or credit card at an in-person registration session

Important for New or Returning Players

Players who did not play on NEZ team or within the NEZ organization last season may need to be transferred into the NEZ system before registration can be completed.

If your player does not appear as eligible for registration, please email nezhockeyregistrar@gmail.com with the player's full name and date of birth so that a transfer can be arranged.

How to Register Online

Registration is completed through Spordle.

1. Create a family account or log in to your existing account through Spordle My Account using the parent's name.
2. Add all players, participants, and coaches under the "Link a Member" section by searching for their name and date of birth.
3. Once your account is set up, register your player through the link available on your Spordle Dashboard.
4. If your player has never played with NEZ Hockey or no registration option appears, contact nezhockeyregistrar@gmail.com with the player's name and date of birth.
5. If paying by e-transfer, send payment to nezsportstreasurer@gmail.com.
6. Registration is not considered complete until all required documents, forms, and payments have been received.

Please note: Players are not eligible to participate on the ice until full payment has been received.

Volunteer Bingo Requirement

Parents of players registered in U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, and U18 divisions are required to complete volunteer bingo commitments.

Volunteer Requirement:

• One double bingo or Two regular bingos per player
• To a maximum of two players per family

Bingo dates can be selected at an in-person registration session.

A $400 volunteer deposit cheque (dated for your bingo date) is required. The cheque will be returned when the commitment is fulfilled or cashed if the commitment is not completed.

Registration Requirements

Registration is not complete until all of the following requirements have been met.

1. The Shift Forward - Evolving Hockey Culture

All families registering a player for the first time must complete The Shift Forward: Evolving Hockey Culture program before players will be assigned evaluation or tryout ice times.

If your previous Respect in Sport certification has expired, you must complete the new program.

When completing the course:

• Add every player you are registering
• Ensure player names match their Hockey Alberta registration exactly
• Incorrect spelling may prevent verification of course completion

2. Bingo Sign-Up

For U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, and U18 registrations:

• Parents must either attend an in-person registration session to select bingo dates, or
• Pay the $400 Bingo Waiver Fee online during registration

Attendance at an in-person registration session is not required if both registration fees and the Bingo Waiver Fee are paid online.

3. Community League Membership

All families must purchase a current Community League Membership before participating in the NEZ program.

Memberships can be purchased:

• Through the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL), or
• Through your local Community League

Military families are exempt but must provide a copy of their CRA membership card.

4. Required Documents for New Players

New players must provide:

• Birth Certificate
• Alberta Health Care Card
• Proof of Residency (property tax bill or utility bill showing parent/guardian name and address)

2026/207 Registration Fees 

After You Register

Once your registration has been submitted, you will receive additional information and next steps by email. Please allow up to two weeks for processing and email responses during peak registration periods.

Families who have already registered online still need to:

• Submit payment (if not paid online)
• Provide documentation for first-year players
• Complete bingo sign-up requirements by attending one of the in-person registration sessions listed below
